John Dower, a former panelist speaking about the American occupation of Japan has just written a new book. It's called 'Culture's of War', published by W.W. Norton and according to reviews looks at the nature of modern warfare and how it puts the idea of 'purity' into question. Also, I'm finally finishing another former panelist's book; Greg Grandin's, 'Fordlandia'. Bizarre, beautiful and sad.
